Welcome to Tahoe Quarterly’s 2024 Best of Tahoe Photo Contest, which runs from February 19 through March 8.

Photos will be shared on TQ’s Facebook page leading up to the submission deadline, after which the entries will be judged by a panel of professional photographers. The top three images in each category will then be featured in TQ‘s 2023 Best of Tahoe issue, while first-place photos receive a $150 prize, second-place photos receive a $100 prize and third-place photos receive $50. (Note that submitted photos will not be used for any purposes outside of the contest.)

GUIDELINES

— Submissions must be sent to sylas@tahoequarterly.com and received by the end of the day on Friday, March 8.

— Shooters may enter one photo per category (please only enter your own photography).

— Images must be available in high resolution and taken in the greater Lake Tahoe region, which includes the Carson Valley.

— Submissions must include your full name and the category you’re entering within the email.

— As this is not a popularity contest, a panel of TQ editors, photographers and designers will vote to determine the winning photos.

CATEGORIES

Landscape: Let’s see your best scenic shot from the greater Lake Tahoe region.

Wildlife: A fan favorite, we want to see your best image of a wild creature captured on camera.

Pets: We love our pets, and we want to see yours enjoying life in this corner of the Sierra.

Sports: Let’s see your best action photo involving a sport in the greater Lake Tahoe region—be it skiing, snowboarding, paddleboarding, wake surfing, bull riding, rec league softball, soccer or any other sporting event caught on camera.

Black & White: Submit your best B&W photo of life in the greater Lake Tahoe region.
