Welcome to Tahoe Quarterly’s 2026 Best of Tahoe Photo Contest, which is accepting entries through March 18. 

Photos will be shared on TQ’s Facebook page leading up to the submission deadline, after which entries will be judged by a panel of professional photographers and designers. The top three images in each category will be featured in TQ’s 2026 Best of Tahoe issue, while first-place photos will receive a $150 prize, second-place photos $125 and third-place photos $100. 

(Note that submitted photos will not be used for any purposes outside of the contest.)

Guidelines

— Submissions must be sent to sylas@tahoequarterly.com and received by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 18.

— Shooters may enter only one photo per category (please enter your own photography). 

— AI-generated (or altered) images are not allowed, nor is the use of stock photography (for backgrounds or any other purpose).

— Images must be available in high resolution in the event of placing among the top three and being featured in the magazine (low-res images are acceptable for initial submissions).

— Images must be taken in the greater Lake Tahoe region. This includes the Carson Valley and surrounding area.

— Submissions must include the photographer’s full name within the email, along with the intended category. 

— As this is not a popularity contest, a panel of professional photographers and designers will vote to determine the winning images.
